Griffin named director of Radiology and Oncology Services

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Scott Griffin, BSRT, has been named director of Radiology and Oncology Services.

Scott came to SAMC in 2004 and most recently served as director of the Southeast Cancer Care Network, which includes clinic locations in SAMC, Enterprise and Marianna, Florida. His administrative oversite included radiation oncology, outpatient chemotherapy, cancer registry and cancer navigation services.

He began his career at SAMC as administrator of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). PACS is a healthcare technology for the short- and long-term storage, retrieval, management, distribution and presentation of medical images.

Before coming to SAMC, Scott was the PACS administrator at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, Gulfport, Mississippi. He began his medical career in 1998 as a MRI technologist and assistant PACS administrator at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center, Mobile.

Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences in 2001 from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Alabama, Florence.

Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly and their children, Eliot, Reagan and Avery. He is also an avid baseball fan.
