Since the beginning of COVID-19, Southeast Health has remained steadfast in its commitment to provide a safe environment for our patients, staff and the community at large. Early on, we made the decision to postpone care that was not critical or life threatening. We did this because it was the right thing to do to reduce the spread of the disease.

Now, it is time to resume our commitment to help you safely manage your healthcare needs outside of the coronavirus. Southeast Health physician leadership believes it is now safe and important to begin connecting with our patients for other healthcare needs. We’ll do this while maintaining our commitment to your safety.

We’re accomplishing this by making it possible for you to see your primary care provider, or visit the ER and urgent care again, and stay safe while doing it. Here is how we’re keeping safety in mind every step of the way.

  • Curbside check-in, no-wait appointments and virtual appointments are available

  • Screenings are provided at all locations

  • In the emergency department, patients with symptoms of respiratory illness are triaged quickly and isolated to protect others

  • We’re able to test for COVID-19 through our own laboratory and get results back in hours, not days

  • When you visit any Southeast Health facility, you’ll find every team member and every patient wearing a mask

  • If you are admitted to the hospital, have elective surgery or any procedure requiring anesthesia, you’ll receive a COVID-19 test, even if you don’t have symptoms

While we have seen an upswing in positive COVID-19 cases in the area during the last few weeks; we remain prepared and ready to safely care for COVID-19 patients, as well as any other patient who needs our care.

You can help by taking personal responsibility and follow proper safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and the Alabama Department of Public Health.

  • Always wear a mask, especially when you are in social settings with large groups of people such as the grocery store and church

  • Social distance, keep a six-foot space between yourself and others

  • Use hand sanitizer often and wash your hands with soap and water

  • If you are sick and running a fever, stay at home

We look forward to seeing you again and welcome back to safe care.
