Southeast Health named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2025

Southeast Health is pleased to announce it has been recognized as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces 2025 in healthcare by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.

This prestigious award reaffirms the engagement of employees at each of the entities that make up Southeast Health, which includes the Medical Center, Medical Group, Foundation, Statera, and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM). This level of employee engagement helps attract other talented clinical staff, support personnel and faculty to join the Southeast Health team.

“This recognition is the result of great employees who are committed to providing excellent patient care to those we serve and educating medical students,” said Rick Sutton, CEO of Southeast Health. “I am proud of our Southeast Health team and their unselfish commitment to the wellbeing of our community. They don’t do it for awards or recognition, they do it because every patient and medical student deserves their best.”

Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group recognized companies through a comprehensive assessment involving employee interviews, company reviews, publicly accessible data and an analysis of over 120 key performance indicators.

“In the healthcare industry especially, employee engagement is crucial,” said Jennifer H. Cunningham, editor-in-chief of Newsweek. “These companies demonstrate exceptional commitment to creating a workplace that promotes both employee and patient satisfaction at the highest level.”

She said employee engagement provides a range of benefits, which is why Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group have partnered for the third-annual ranking of America’s Greatest Workplaces recognizing companies where employee engagement comes naturally.

This recognition, along with our Forbes Best-in-State employer for three years in a row, is examples of how Southeast continues to be Southbest.
