Southeast Health named a top regional hospital by U.S. News and World Report
Southeast Health Medical Center is proud to be named one of the top regional hospitals in the nation for 2025–2026 by U.S. News & World Report for demonstrating superior outcomes.
The Medical Center is among 504 hospitals across 49 states to earn this prestigious distinction. In addition, it was recognized as a High Performing Hospital in 11 specialties.
“Southeast Health Medical Center is honored to receive this national recognition from such a highly respected publication,” said Rick Sutton, Chief Executive Officer at Southeast Health. “This achievement reflects the dedication and excellence of our nurses, clinical staff, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support personnel who consistently deliver exceptional care to our patients.”
Sutton also emphasized that such recognition would not be possible without the continued support and strategic vision of the Houston County Health Care Authority.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions. Only 13% of those evaluated earned a Best Hospitals designation. Rankings were based on objective performance measures, including risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and the level of nursing care.
“For more than three decades, U.S. News has been an invaluable guide for patients,” said Managing Editor and Chief of Health Analysis Ben Harder at U.S. News. “With a ‘Best Hospital’ recognition, Americans, in consultation with their medical providers, can confidently choose a regional hospital known for providing superior care for their specific illness or condition.”
This recognition cannot be applied for—it is determined solely by U.S. News’s rigorous methodology. Such independent validation underscores our ongoing commitment to making Southeast the Southbest.
