The Southeast Health system, which includes the Medical Center, Medical Group, Foundation, Statera and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM), has again been recognized by Forbes as a top employer in Alabama.

This marks the fifth consecutive year the health system has made the Forbes list of Best-in-State Employers. This prestigious award is presented in collaboration with Statista Inc., which is the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Rick Sutton, chief executive officer of Southeast Health and president of ACOM, said he is most proud of this recognition because it is employee driven. “Our employees are who create the culture that makes people want to join the Southeast Health team.”

Forbes and Statista selected America’s Best-In-State Employers 2026 through an independent survey from a vast sample of over 245,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. More than 2 million employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on personal employee evaluations and public feedback about the organization.
