Birenbaum named as program director of Southeast Health’s residency program

Southeast Health is pleased to welcome Dale S. Birenbaum, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, as program director of its Emergency Medicine Residency Program (GME).

Dr. Birenbaum most recently served as the founding program director and academic chairman of AdventHealth Orlando’s (Fla.) Emergency Medicine Residency program. In addition, Dr. Birenbaum served as an associate professor at the University of Central Florida, College of Medicine. Prior to this, he was an assistant professor at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Gainesville.

Dr. Birenbaum received his bachelor’s degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Dr. Birenbaum has been involved in all aspects of emergency medicine education throughout his career and is looking forward to working with all our teams at Southeast Health and the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM).
