Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Ashley Cole has been named director of Information Systems.

Ashley has more than 16 years of information technology expertise including more than 9 years of broad-based management in development, implementation and support. He joined the SAMC team in 2001 as a web software developer. He was named senior applications developer in 2003 and he was promoted to applications/operations manager in 2007. He has continued to grow professionally within the Information Systems department and he was elevated to director of applications in 2014.

Prior to coming to SAMC, Ashley held several information technology positions at AAA Cooper Transportation in Dothan. He also started his own web development business in 2003.

Ashley completed his Associate of Science degree from George C. Wallace College in 1997. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Management/Information Systems from Troy University in Dothan in 2000.

Ashley and his wife, Cathy, have two children, Natalie and John Carter. When he is not working, Ashley enjoys playing golf and coaching his children’s recreational league teams.
