Couture named director of cardiology floor

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Jessica Couture, RNCC-BSN, has been named director of 4 East Nursing Unit. This unit is primarily designated for cardiology patients.

Jessica has been part of the SAMC team for 7 years. She has most recently served as a clinical nurse manager since 2015. Prior to that, she was a nurse and a relief charge nurse on 4 East. She began her career at SAMC as a nurse tech in 2010.

Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in 2008. She earned an Associate degree in nursing from Wallace College in Dothan in 2011. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2015. She is currently working on her Master of Nursing in Leadership and Healthcare Systems from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jessica is certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center in Cardiovascular Nursing. She is also certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support and by the American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR.

Jessica and her husband, Ryan, who is an airline pilot for Envoy, have a son, James. She enjoys running, cycling and swimming during her free time. She is also a huge animal advocate.
