Welcome to the Southeast Health Transitional Year Residency Program.

Our mission is to provide residents with a well-rounded educational experience across multiple clinical disciplines, preparing them for a specific specialty or helping them explore careers in primary care.

Our competency-based curriculum, guided by the six core competencies of the ACGME, ensures residents gain a strong foundation of medical knowledge and progressively take on more responsibility in patient care. We evaluate and provide feedback to residents semiannually, monitoring their progress through specific milestones.

The program emphasizes physician well-being and professional development, offering elements designed to teach skills and habits that promote career longevity. Residents benefit from the outstanding faculty and infrastructure of Southeast Health’s Internal Medicine Residency program, as well as the institution’s over fifty-year history of innovative, state-of-the-art care.

We invite you to visit Dothan and experience the exceptional educational opportunities and quality of life we offer.
