Dr. Nallamothu named chief health information officer

Southeast Health is pleased announce that Ravi Nallamothu, MD, SFHM, has been named chief health information officer (CHIO) for the healthcare system. He will also retain his duties as director of the transitional year residency program.

The CHIO serves as a liaison between Information Systems (IS) and the hospital’s clinical staff. Dr. Nallamothu will maximize efficiency and quality derived from implemented IS systems.

Dr. Nallamothu, board certified in internal medicine, joined the Southeast Health medical staff in 2011 as a hospitalist. Since coming to Southeast Health he has served in multiple leadership roles including medical director of the Clinical Decision Unit, medical director of Hospital Medicine and chair of the Quality and Peer Review Committee. He is also on board of directors for Statera Network, the health system’s accountable care organization.

Dr. Nallamothu earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in India. He completed his residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Centre in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
