Why choose our Heart & Vascular services?

Southeast Health has the largest heart and vascular program in the region. It’s why more than 1,000 patients from as far away as the Florida beaches to north near Montgomery choose us each year for their procedures, treatment and follow-up.

The highly trained and talented team of physicians in the Heart and Vascular Center consist of vascular surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, interventional radiologists and a cardiac electrophysiologist. The Heart and Vascular Center provides a full complement of clinically integrated care for all matters of the heart and the body’s vascular system. Experience, technology and excellent facilities allow us to provide patient-centered, individual care.

The Heart and Vascular Center has received the highest accreditation by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and the Institute of the American College of Cardiology as a Chest Pain Center with PCI and Resuscitation.

PCI refers to a procedure to open blockages and increase blood flow in the heart’s vessels which is performed in Southeast Health’s catheterization lab by one of our highly trained cardiologists or interventional radiologists.

Southeast Health’s cath lab is the largest in the region and features the newest digital technology available. It has three nuclear cameras with dual heads for faster examination and diagnosis. The five cath labs accommodate more than 4,400 patients a year.
