Mayhall named director of Spiritual Care at SAMC

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to welcome Timothy Brian Mayhall, M.Div., BCC, as director of Spiritual Care.

Mayhall is a board certified chaplain from the Association of Professional Chaplains. He is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and he was ordained to ministry by Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.

Mayhall comes to SAMC from St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham where he served as staff chaplain. While at St. Vincent’s, he specialized in areas of emergency medicine, critical care, behavioral health and palliative care.

Prior to serving at St. Vincent’s, he was at Walker County Baptist Medical Center in Jasper where he completed his first and second year chaplain residency. In addition, he has served as PRN chaplain for Care First Hospice, University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center and Trinity Medical Center.

Mayhall is a 1999 graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English. He earned his Master of Divinity from the Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham. He completed his clinical pastorate education at Ingalls Center for Pastoral Ministry, Baptist Health Systems of Alabama in Birmingham.

When he is not at work, Mayhall enjoys reading poetry, spending time with his family, writing and research.
