Dr. Whitehurst is a board-certified general surgeon with Southeast Health Surgery Clinic and a member of the medical staff at Southeast Health Medical Center. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama.
A Eufaula native, Dr. Whitehurst was raised in Dothan and began his medical practice here in 2002. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his residency and internship in general surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center.
Dr. Whitehurst serves as the trauma medical director at Southeast Health. His specialty training and vast practice experience ensures his patients receive safe, innovative and state-of-the-art treatment in all areas of general surgery. He is also experienced in robotic assisted colon surgery and hernia surgery.
