Peter M. Rao, MD, is an interventional cardiologist with Rao Heart and Vascular located across from Southeast Health Medical Center. He is a member of the medical staff at Southeast Health Medical Center and is in integral part of the Structural Heart Program at the hospital.
Dr. Rao, board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, completed his medical education at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. His residency and fellowship were completed at Washington University School of Medicine. He is specially trained in transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and works closely with cardiac surgeons at Southeast Health to perform these procedures as a multi-disciplinary team.
