Southeast Health Cancer Center

Southeast Health Cancer Center is a leading Radiation Oncology provider, offering exceptional, compassionate cancer care to more than 1,200 existing and newly diagnosed cancer patients each year. Southeast Health’s board-certified physicians and oncology professionals are the most experienced cancer care providers in the region. In 2011, Southeast Health was the first hospital in the state to associate with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Cancer Care Network. Through this affiliation, Southeast Health Cancer Center provides patients greater access to clinical trials, treatment protocols aligned with those offered at UAB, web-based genetic counseling, and collaboration with UAB specialists for second opinions when determining treatment planning. The affiliation also provides our physician and nursing professionals with additional opportunities to participate in continuing education programs.

It’s important to feel comfortable and confident about your doctor – especially when you have cancer. At Southeast Health Cancer Center, patients can rest easier knowing that their care is in the hands of the most knowledgeable and highly trained oncologists in the region.

Our patients receive care from doctors who specialize in treating all types of cancer with the most effective technologies, treatments and radiation therapies available. Our oncologists also partner with your primary physician to provide the best possible care.

We also develop and implement treatment programs to maximize the chances of curing cancer while minimizing the radiation dose to normal organs, with the goal to maximize patients’ quality of life and preserve normal organ function. Our radiation oncologists maintain strong academic, clinical and research credentials, and a commitment to our patients’ well-being.

Our specially trained nurses are dedicated to excellence in patient care and work with a multidisciplinary team consisting of case workers, dietitians, rehab therapists and others to provide the very best for patients and their families. Our patient navigation team helps support cancer patients by guiding them through diagnosis and treatment, helping them overcome any barriers to their prescribed treatment plan.
