Lr. Col (ret) Patrick Whitney, MD, MSPH to join Westgate Clinic

Southeast Health is pleased to welcome back Lt. Col (ret) Patrick Whitney, MD, MSPH, to join our Westgate Clinic team.

Dr. Whitney, who is board certified in Family Practice, returns to Southeast Health Medical Group from the 325th Medical Group at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, which is located near Panama City Beach. While at Tyndall he served as senior flight surgeon, as well as practicing primary care and occupational medicine. Prior to that he was director of Occupational Medicine at Lyster Army Health Clinic at Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker).

Dr. Whitney completed his residency in Family Practice at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Monroe, Louisiana. He earned his Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine in the Dominica, West Indies. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy University in Troy, Alabama. He completed his Doctor of Chiropractic prior to medical school from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia. He later received his Master of Science in Public Health from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Whitney retired from the United States Air Force in 2017 as commander of the 7th Aerospace Medicine Squadron at Dyess AFB in Texas. During his active duty, Dr. Whitney accumulated flight hours in multiple airframes, which led to him being awarded the Air Medal and Aerial Achievement Medal.

When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Whitney and his wife, Bernice, enjoy outdoor sports, hiking and traveling.
