Southeast Health and Pulmonary Associates broke ground Thursday on a new Lung Health Center in the health system’s Medical Park. Located at 300 Medical Park Boulevard, the facility is a joint venture between Pulmonary Associates and Southeast Health.

Pulmonary Associates, the region’s largest group of board-certified pulmonologists and advanced practice providers, will relocate its clinic to the new center. Designed as a comprehensive destination for respiratory and sleep care, the Lung Health Center will offer pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, advanced imaging, diagnostic testing, and related respiratory services in a single location. Patients will benefit from seamless care coordination among providers, faster access to services, and a more integrated approach to diagnosis and treatment.

The center will also include a 10-bed sleep center owned and operated by Southeast Health, expanding access to diagnostic and treatment services for patients with sleep-related conditions.

“The Lung Health Center is designed to be a center of excellence: a place where advanced pulmonary and sleep medicine come together in one coordinated, patient-centered setting,” said Marvin Sexton, MD, Pulmonary Associates. “The center will support and expand the programs we are already building regarding the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, asthma, COPD, sleep disorders, and the full spectrum of pulmonary care.”

The 39-acre Medical Park is located behind the east-side Aldi on Ross Clark Circle, across from Southeast Health Medical Center. The development is accessible from both Ross Clark Circle and East Main Street (U.S. Highway 84 East).

Houston County Schools and Southeast Health leaders were joined by faculty, students, and community partners during the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Houston County Career Academy, which featured remarks from organizational leaders and provided attendees with an opportunity to learn more about the program and its impact on the future workforce.
