Hartigan to serve as leader for SAMC’s Heart and Vascular Service Line

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Eric A. Hartigan, RN, MSN, MBA, has been named executive director of Heart and Vascular Services.

Eric has 23 years of healthcare experience in nursing, prehospital services and hospital leadership.

He most recently served on the executive team at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Baylor St. Luke’s is a joint venture that is home to the Texas Heart Institute. The Texas Heart Institute is regarded as one of the nation’s premier cardiovascular research and education institutions.

Prior to serving at Baylor St. Luke’s, Eric served in several nursing leadership positions at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2004. He earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Mobile in 2006 and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of North Alabama in Florence in 2016.

A native of the Wiregrass, Eric is a 1991 graduate of Wicksburg High School. He is married to Darenee Hartigan, also a native of Dothan, and together they have two daughters, Peyton and Darby.
