Hicks named director of Child Development Center

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Cindy Hicks has been named director of our Child Development Center (CDC).

Cindy began her career at the CDC when it opened 26 years ago. She has continued to grow professionally through the years and most recently she served as supervisor of the CDC. In addition to administrative duties, Cindy is an experienced classroom teacher.

The CDC provides a quality learning environment for children and grandchildren of SAMC team members, as well as employees of affiliated physicians’ offices. Established in 1992, the CDC is licensed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources and it serves more than 200 students annually who are ages 6 weeks to 14 years old.

Cindy received her Associate of Arts degree from Wallace College in Dothan and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology from Troy University in Dothan.

Cindy and her husband, Ed, live in Ashford. They have 3 sons, Alex, Tyler and C.J. During her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping and spending time with family.
