Kirkland named director of Laboratory Services

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Lydia Kirkland has been named director of Laboratory Services.

Lydia came to SAMC in June as manager of Southeast Reference Services.

She quickly moved up to interim director of Laboratory Services before being promoted to the permanent position. Laboratory Services includes Southeast Reference Lab, the main hospital lab and the outpatient lab.

Lydia has more than 20 years of experience in strategic sales management, including 9 years in the healthcare industry. She also has experience in the nonprofit field with Heard Magnet School in the Dothan City School System.

Lydia graduated cum laude from Troy University in Troy, AL with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and held distinguished leadership positions in multiple campus organizations.

Although an Ashford native, she resides in Dothan with her husband, Jeffrey, and their three children, Davis, Jansen and Bennett, ages 11 to 4. Lydia enjoys writing, exercising and spending quality time with family and friends.
