Pharmacy Residency Program Overview

Program Purpose

The Southeast Health Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and develops clinical pharmacists that will provide medication-related care to a wide variety of patients and conditions. After a PGY1, residents will be eligible for a post-graduate year two (PGY2) residency program and board certification.

additional opportunities

Teaching

Residents will have the opportunity to work with a professor at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) at the site and participate in teaching certificate program. They will also work alongside our Graduate Medical Education Program residents and medical students.

Leadership

Residents will help precept APPE students from Samford and Auburn. They will also be involved in committees and assist with community health education initiatives.
