Dr. Whitaker is from Jasper, Alabama. He is a graduate of Auburn University and received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his Internship and Residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga Unit, Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. Whitaker enjoys outdoor activities such as golf, fishing and water sports. He and his wife also enjoy spending time with their two children.
