Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to welcome William (Troy) Elkington, MD, general psychiatrist, to our team of hospitalists.

Dr. Elkington comes to Dothan after recently completing his psychiatry residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. During his residency, he has also provided adult and adolescent outpatient psychiatry at a clinic associated with West Virginia University and at the United Summit Center in Morgantown.

Dr. Elkington received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 1986. He completed his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1989. He earned his Medical Degree from West Virginia University in 2013.

Dr. Elkington and his wife enjoy spending time with family. When he is not working, he enjoys skiing, basketball, reading, travelling and stained glass.
