Temples named director of neurosurgery floor

Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Jerry Temples, BSN, has been named director of the 6 East Nursing Unit. This unit is designated for neurosurgery patients.

Jerry has been part of the SAMC team for almost 12 years in critical care nursing and management. His most recent position was care coordinator for the Critical Care Unit. Prior to coming to SAMC, Jerry worked at Donalsonville Hospital in Donalsonville, Georgia. He has also worked for Nolan’s Long Term Acute Care Hospital located inside SAMC.

Jerry received his Associates Degree in nursing form George C. Wallace Community College in Dothan in 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Science in nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida in 2010. He is schedule to complete his Master’s in nursing from Jacksonville University in 2017.

His certifications include Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advance Life Support, Basic Life Support, Hemispheres Stroke, Advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring using the Swan-Ganz catheter, Arterial Sheath removal, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump.

Jerry and his wife, Robyn, live in Seminole County, Georgia with their two children Elizabeth and Easton. His hobbies are hunting and fishing.
