Southeast Alabama Medical Center (SAMC) is pleased to announce Ryan York, PT, DPT, CCCE, is the clinic manager of Rehab Services West.

Ryan joined the Rehabilitation Services team at SAMC in 2013. Rehabilitation Services West opened earlier this month and it is located in Westway Medical Office on U.S. 84 West at John D. Odom Road. The west side location offers a variety of physical therapy services, especially dealing with orthopedics and sports injuries.

Ryan is certified in dry needling and he is the only physical therapist in the area who accepts outside referrals for this procedure. Dry needling is used to release muscles at trigger points and to treat pain. Dry needling does not include an injection or medication.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from Auburn University in 2009. He earned his doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in 2013.

He is a USA certified weightlifting coach. He spent nine years as a weightlifting coach at Auburn University. He has more than two years of experience in CrossFit dealing with injury prevention, performance enhancement and rehabilitation.

Rehab Services West is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Rehab Services main number – 712-3726.
